It’s almost the end of my placement year with Anson McCade and I am really sad at the thought of leaving!
It has been really fun, and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a placement year. I have learnt how to effectively manage my time, built a strong network of professionals in the IT industry and even got the chance to engage in some business development at a young age! I don’t think there is an opportunity to learn so much and obtain so much responsibility on your placement year anywhere else.
The working environment is great too, I often stop for a game of FIFA on my lunch break or pop out to a trendy spot in Shoreditch for a bit of lunch. Everyone is cheerful and extremely knowledgeable and I have made some great friends. We always have music in the office as well which is a nice touch.
Highlights include the office parties and the odd day when we have a dog in the office! There was also a particular candidate who I was able to take through the entire process within 4 days and double her yearly income, she was extremely happy and we still remain in regular contact.
If I were to give tips to a student beginning their time with Anson McCade, I would say the following:
At the end of the day if you are looking for a job in recruitment, there isn’t a better company. Uncapped commission, freedom to work on whatever roles suit you best, a great office environment/location and the liveliest bunch of colleagues in the city.
