Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Firmware Engineer with expertise in VHDL development for FPGAs and RFSoCs. This is a contract role falling inside IR35, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects. The role sits within a leading UK Cyber Security firm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead firmware development using VHDL for FPGAs and RFSoCs.
• Design, implement, and optimize firmware solutions for high-performance systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware and software engineers.
• Contribute to system-level design and integration.
• Conduct debugging, testing, and validation of firmware designs.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers when needed.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Significant experience in firmware development using VHDL.
• Extensive experience working with FPGAs and RFSoCs.
• Proven track record of successful project delivery in complex systems.
• Strong understanding of hardware-software integration.
• Ability to debug and troubleshoot low-level system issues.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with other hardware description languages (HDLs) like Verilog.
• Knowledge of signal processing and RF systems.
• Familiarity with tools such as Xilinx Vivado or similar.
