Senior User Researcher

Anson McCade are current partnering with a leading organisation in the UK as they seek to appoint a Senior User Researcher. In this role, the postholder will identify research, carry out research activities, engage with users and analyse results. Prior experience working with in the Public Sector and active SC Clearance would be highly desirable.

The Senior User Researcher responsibilities will include:

  • Assess project needs to determine research requirements and choose the most effective research methods.
  • Create, document, and present research plans that define study objectives and methodologies.
  • Perform user research activities, such as preparing discussion guides, developing data collection tools, and facilitating user sessions.
  • Establish strong connections with users through in-depth interviews, workshop facilitation, and ethnographic research techniques.
  • Evaluate research findings, including quantitative data, to produce meaningful insights and practical recommendations.
  • Integrate research findings using appropriate tools and work closely with cross-functional teams to turn insights into user stories.
  • Develop visual aids like diagrams, journey maps, storyboards, or information designs to communicate the complete service and customer experience.
  • Deliver actionable insights to stakeholders through clear, impactful presentations that foster strategic insights and service enhancements.

Experience required for the Senior User Researcher role includes:

  • Background as a User Researcher (UX) in public services, gained either directly or through consultancy firms, agencies, or organizations where research has played a crucial role in data-driven decision-making.
  • Proven track record of designing and executing effective research plans that align with project objectives.
  • Excellent presentation skills, facilitating the delivery of actionable insights and clear recommendations tailored to the audience's interests and knowledge levels.
  • Established ability to collaborate effectively within multi-disciplinary teams and engage with stakeholders from diverse departments, disciplines, and backgrounds.
  • Experience in the government sector is preferred, along with active SC clearance.
