Quant Developer

London based

The team develops and enhances systems used across the business, including the front office trading, middle office and operations functions. They work closely with the team of Strats (a.k.a. quantitative analysts), the broader Engineering team, Traders, Operations and Finance analysts to ensure smooth and efficient running of the business and technology processes. They build new systems and also support and enhance existing ones depending on the requirements of their clients.

This role is an excellent opportunity for a motivated quantitative developer to join an exciting business area and work with smart and motivated people.

Responsibilities:

  • Enhance existing applications across the business, including:
    • Trade processing systems and feeds
    • Risk reporting (EOD and potentially intraday)
  • Work within the Business Engineering team to design and develop new applications
  • Work closely with the Strats team, implement changes in the existing codebase
  • Collaborate across teams: engage Operations, Pricing, Trading & Finance teams to understand requirements and deliver new features

Skills and Experience

Required:

  • 3+ years' application development experience, ideally within the investment banking or insurance industries
  • Ability to work with multiple programming languages and technologies
  • Familiarity with SDLC and development best practices
  • A team player with excellent communication skills

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with SecDB, Athena or Quartz
  • Python programming experience
  • Server-side web development experience (incl. web frameworks such as Flask)
  • Familiarity with the PostgreSQL database technology
  • Experience with Reactjs UI development
