Product Manager

£55,000 – £65,000

Location: United Kingdom (London – London) Type: Permanent

Product Manager

If you ever bought a second-hand car from a "private" seller you've probably ended up with a clapped out old hatchback that barely made it out of the seller's driveway- something you weren't aware of until the very first break down, due to the new lick of paint it was given before your viewing.

This is the drawback of shopping in an industry that isn't regulated- unless you're a master mechanic with an expert understanding of everything from brake pads to spark plugs, there's a high chance you'll end up with a dud.

Luckily, we have an opportunity that can give a little bit of hope to the frustrated car buyer in you while keeping the Product Manager in you happy too.

The product-

If you're a product manager, the first thing you want is a product that is highly visible within a mass market and if you're a car buyer you want to know you're not getting ripped off by someone sleazy selling you a freshly polished write-off. This is an opportunity that ticks both boxes as it'll see you:

  • Take the helm of a product that ads a new layer of honesty to buying used cars.
  • Deliver an application that ensures the quality of the cars for sale on the platform, doing so by providing warranties for every car sold.
  • Offers its users advanced payment options, not available when purchasing from a home-seller.
  • Manage a platform that uses video technology for full automotive tours, hosted by an expert around the chosen make/model.

The role-

The product has really made waves in the used car market and is highly visible among car buyers throughout the UK. It has flipped the industry on its head and the team behind this are searching for a product manager to continue this forward trajectory. You'll be responsible for:

  • Working closely with the engineering team, ensuring the product gets to where it needs to be.
  • Ensuring that the "product vision" is being achieved by all involved, resulting in a finished product with advanced functionality created solely with the user in mind.
  • You will communicate the product requirements to the engineering team, ensuring the functional requirements are met.
  • Using advanced analytic platforms to assist in the delivery of consumer-attraction pieces, driving users towards the web/mobile platforms.
  • Prioritising and managing workloads to ensure deadlines are being met.
  • Researching and implementing tools/processes that will drive more users to the web/mobile platforms.
  • Work with marketing teams, including SEO agencies to further increase the online visibility of your product.

The person-

This isn't your first car show- well, you don't need any previous experience of the auto industry, but you would have experience in expertly executing product strategies that have been crucial to projecting a brand identity to the mass marketplace. You'll be well versed in:

  • Representing the product vision within engineering teams, ensuring the technical capacity is in tune with where the platform needs to be.
  • Executing a customer/user-first product management approach, ensuring the user/demographic of the product is at the center of your execution.
  • Communicating product requirements to technical engineering teams.
  • Working with 3rd party agencies in the execution of digital branding strategies in line with the product's vision.
  • Being a team player- experienced in agile working practices with a passion for collaboration.

What You'll get:

They haven't slouched on quality and they're no slouch when it comes to rewarding their teams either. If you're a Product manager with 4+ years' experience you could benefit from:

  • A salary of £55,000-£65,000 per year.
  • Performance based bonuses.
  • Medical insurance.
  • Learning and development programs.
