One of the Top 50 Best Tech Companies to work for in 2021 are seeking an experience Software Engineer to join their team to support the end-to-end delivery of digital services for public sector leaders. The company recently announced an IPO and is now entering its next phase of growth, making 2022 an exciting time to join the business. With this development comes the need to hire mid to senior level Software Engineers (.Net, C#, Node.js, React, JavaScript) who will build and deliver bespoke software solutions to help improve the lives of citizens across the UK. The ideal developer will be confident in a client-facing role whilst holding expertise across TDD, have some exposure to Cloud/DevOps, and have experience not only in developing but also deploying a build (Full SDLC).

Essential Requirements of a Software Engineer:

  • Written code with tests
  • Worked across a variety of programming languages (.Net, C#, Node.JS, React, JavaScript)
  • Experience working with databases & APIs
  • Debugging experience in a range of systems/infrastructure
  • Written code with test-driven development
  • Worked in multi-disciplined teams using Agile practices such as Scrum, XP or Kanban
  • Understanding of AWS, Azure and GCP
  • DevOps experience

Desirable Requirements of a Software Engineer:

  • Good consultancy/client facing experience
  • Showcasing and presentation skills
  • Pair programming - pair around 50% of the time
  • Component -based design techniques such as using pattern libraries, styled-components, CSS-in-JS, BEM, and/or SUIT CSS
  • The React ecosystem including a test-driven approach
  • Infrastructure as code technology; Terraform and Cloud Formation
  • Familiarity with architectural and design patterns
  • Use of architectural decision records
