Java Developer - Hybrid

Based in Guildford

My client is currently in search of a Java Developer to join their growing telecommunications unit. Candidates will be helping to develop and deliver next generation communication and intelligence solutions for a wide range of clients such as law enforcement agencies, telecommunications companies and compliance agencies. You will have the chance to work with the latest technologies and know that your work will have a real life impact as you will be assisting law enforcement agencies with fighting organised crime and counter terrorism.

What will the ideal Java Developer be doing

  • The ideal Java developer will be familiar with full lifecycle software development in Java
  • Being able to successfully deliver high quality software releases in to the Cloud
  • Participation in occasional training and business development opportunities
  • Strive for continuous improvement by investigation and research alternative technologies

Requirements for the ideal Java Developer

  • Minimum of 2 years as a professional Java developer
  • experience writing tests for existing and new code to ensure compatibility and stability
  • Experience with different types of source control (preferably Git), be familiar with continuous integration, test-driven development and be prepared to use agile development techniques to incrementally deliver working software.
  • Must work well in small teams and pride themselves in the quality job they do
  • Experience in the following technologies is preferable but not required:
    • AWS, Azure, Elasticsearch, Docker, Microservice Architecture, Spring, Apache Maven, Apache Hadoop, Kafka or Camel., Javascript/JQuery/HTML, Prometheus, Ansible, Big Data Platforms
