Are you looking to further your skills as an experienced Interaction Designer? We are currently working with global leader in digital and IT services that are looking to expand their presence in the UK. This organisation is a world leading professional services company that is renovating businesses, technology models and operations to run innovatively and efficiently.

This company are working across government services to assist with a simpler, clearer and faster digital approach for citizens and businesses. As an Interaction Designer, you would be a major part of this, with your vast knowledge of the web, technology and people.

As an Interaction Designer, you will be the advocate for the end user. You will be designing the digital services, while always 'starting with user needs' as a rule of thumb.

You must be able to:

  • Listen to the needs of stakeholders and manage stakeholder expectations
  • Apply a digital understanding to all of your work
  • Design systems for use across multiple services
  • Challenge the validity of constraints and you can ensure constant high standards
  • Create and validate a dynamic prototype and be experienced in
  • Embed good practice within teams and have effective communication, explaining and evaluating outcomes
  • Work with developers, designers, creatives, policy people, legal people, senior management

Essential skills as an Interaction Designer

  • Designing inclusive and accessible digital interfaces
  • Prototyping in code using Heroku (HTML/CSS/javascript)
  • Experience working in central government
  • Working with hypothesis-driven design approaches
  • Designing user flows, journeys, interactions and user interfaces
  • Using web analytics to inform user needs
  • Establishing design patterns, creating design systems or using existing design systems
  • You have worked across multiple product phases, from initial research to live services

Main responsibilities

  • Product proposition and framing, and how it will meet user and business needs based on agreed priorities
  • Planning and preparing for GDS assessments (GOV)
  • Developing and framing hypotheses and capturing assumptions to be tested
  • Defining measures and measuring success
  • Prototype and usability testing while planning and conducting testing with users and making decisions based on evidence
  • Product prototyping
  • Interface design - creating the best possible user experience
  • Translating designs into user stories
