Are you passionate about working with cutting-edge technology and have a knack for finding innovative solutions to complex challenges? Our Client is a cutting-edge Cyber Security firm and they are looking for Platform Engineers, to be a part of a team that helps keep the UK safe.

As a member of the Software Engineering team, you will work with national security customers to build systems that support their core mission capabilities. You will be part of empowered, autonomous DevOps Teams that have regular contact with their end-users to understand, design, develop, deploy, and maintain applications and services. You will be encouraged to identify new ways of solving problems and work in different teams across customer organizations. The company fully embraces DevOps and values engineers who are flexible to learn and pick up new technologies and approaches.

About you

The successful Platform Engineer will have many of the following:

• Experience working in a similar DevOps / SRE / Infrastructure role (about 1-2 years)
• An appreciation of Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD tooling
• Scripting abilities with languages such as Shell, Bash, or Python etc
• A working knowledge of Linux, networking, routing & firewalls etc
• Great communication and problem-solving skills, and a desire to learn new technologies
• Working in an Agile environment (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, XP, etc)

It would be great if you also had experience in some of these, but if not we'll help you with them:

• Configuration Management tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible etc
• Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Cloud formation
• Cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure or Google Compute
• Docker, and container runtime platforms such as Kubernetes, Openshift or Marathon / Mesos etc
