Financial Resource Management (FRM) is the centralised funding desk for the Equities business within Global Markets. The desk`s overall mandate is to fund the firm’s and the customers’ assets in a prudent and cost effective manner consistent with balance sheet, leverage, stress and risk capital targets.FRM seeks to leverage multiple avenues of cash generation to minimise the costs of funding for the business and bring GME as close as possible to being a self-financing entity.

 

To support this goal, a new group - FRM Strats is being set up within the Global Markets Equity Strats team, which will work in close alignment with the business. The position will be a technical role within the FRM Strats team.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

The individual will be facing-off directly to the Client Financing trading desks as well as working closely with technology, operations and product development to deliver flexible and scalable solutions by:

  • Gathering and agreeing new requirements with the business users
  • Accessing multiple data feeds and sources and integrating these into the Strats internal database
  • Developing new and flexible solutions integrated with the existing Strats platform to replace pre-existing  tactical solutions relating to:
    • Trading, funding and liquidity management tools
    • Risk management tools
    • Counterparty and Client Analytics
    • Asset based pricing framework and integration with the existing Risk and PnL framework
    • Inventory optimisation

Skills and Experience:

 

  • Strong programming skills and experience, in Python and/or Java
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases (Cassandra) is desirable
  • Relevant education such as a Bachelor of Science (BSc)/Master of Science (MSc)/Doctor of Philosophy Degree (PhD) in a relevant subject such as Finance, Maths, Physics, Computer Science, Econometrics, Statistics or Engineering, or the equivalent work experience or qualifications
  • Strong quantitative and analytic skills
  • Prior experience in equities not required, but desire to learn is essential.
  • The ability to communicate effectively across multiple teams and functions, in addition to excellent interpersonal skills
  • Willing and able to travel occasionally
