Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Application Architect with a strong background in Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance to join our team. As an Application Architect, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing core insurance IT systems, leveraging your expertise in application architecture, TOGAF frameworks, and IBM platforms. You will work closely with our clients to deliver customized solutions that meet their unique business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop application architectures for component-based core insurance IT systems.
  • Lead projects applying TOGAF 9.4 or higher for core insurance application architectures.
  • Understand and integrate the value chain of retail insurance and related technical interfaces.
  • Create main components of core insurance applications to support the value chain of German P&C insurance companies.
  • Apply agile design principles and IBM Garage methodologies to develop future-state components of P&C core insurance systems.
  • Conduct design workshops with Enterprise Architecture Management departments.
  • Manage the architecture lifecycle of target and transformation architectures, ensuring alignment with non-functional requirements.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Business Administration, Business Informatics, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.
  • Extensive experience in insurance processes and insurance software products.
  • Proven track record in introducing standard software and transforming business processes within the insurance industry.
  • Long-standing experience in the insurance sector with project and/or team management experience.
  • Proficiency in the latest IT trends and their impact on business success.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Fluent in German and English.
  • Willingness to travel within a dynamic project environment.

Preferred Expertise:

  • Experience managing teams of business developers to implement component-based core insurance applications.
  • Proven experience in conducting design workshops with Enterprise Architecture Management departments.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing integration and de-coupling architectures for IT landscapes in general insurance.
  • Experience managing the architecture lifecycle and ensuring compliance with non-functional requirements for core insurance applications.
