An industry leading aerospace defence company seeks a Specialist Software Engineer to join their Simulation Team. This role is part of the Modelling & Simulation (M&S) discipline, supporting platform development across the product lifecycle, from concept analysis to Test & Evaluation (T&E) and Training.

The Software Engineer will:

• Develop software for the Active Cockpit simulator.
• Manage requirements, design, implementation, integration, and testing.
• Report progress and provide feedback to team members and leadership.
• Produce technical documentation.
• Design solutions integrating COTS hardware and software.
• Support delivered systems and resolve customer issues.
• Develop new work opportunities and system architectures.

Required experience of the Software Engineer:

• Programming experience in C/C++.
• Experience with configuration control tools.
• Experience in task leading and QMS documentation.
• Avionics/Mission systems domain knowledge is ideal.
• Use of Jira for software tasks.

The Software Engineer package:

• £40,000 - £65,000 base
• Company pension
• Medical care
