What You'll Be Doing:

As a Principal Designer, you'll be at the forefront of creating the 3D model for the vessel's primary structure, encompassing everything from the shell plate and stiffening to steelwork decks, bulkheads, and compartmentation. You'll also take on the design of major castings, seating and mounting arrangements, as well as the finer details like penetrations and component parts. Your Skills and Experiences:

  • Significant experience in a design role, ideally within high-hazard industries such as civil engineering, marine, or oil and gas.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools, particularly FORAN, NX, and/or SolidWorks, with the ability to create detailed, large-scale designs for platforms, assemblies, and equipment installations.
  • Strong analytical skills and a proven track record of solving complex design challenges using established techniques.
  • Experience in mentoring and leading other designers, ensuring that all work meets rigorous standards of quality and safety.
