Anson McCade are delighted to be working with a leading consultnacy as they seek to appoint a QA Automation Engineer to a public sector end client for an inital 6 month contract. Further details can be found below:

• Collaborate with the product team to establish acceptance criteria and define the Definition of Done (DOD) for each user story.
• Partner with developers to define, review, and implement required tests for all product features and functions at the unit and component levels.
• Conduct exploratory testing at multiple levels to ensure product quality.
• Work alongside the product team to define tests throughout the product lifecycle, up to live delivery.
• Automate tests as necessary to improve efficiency and coverage.
• Collaborate with developers to design and test stubs.
• Ensure the team defines appropriate tests to validate Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs).
• Maintain traceability throughout the product delivery process.
• Ensure the team is aware of test progress and quality metrics, providing results in a consumable format for stakeholders.
• Promote the importance of quality across the entire product lifecycle.
• As part of an Agile team, contribute to the design and development of automated tests to ensure comprehensive and effective test coverage.
• Provide test assurance for user stories based on the defined acceptance criteria, working within a test-first environment.
• Work closely with Software Engineers to deliver test activities that meet requirements while supporting effective Agile delivery.
• Participate in estimation activities and identify opportunities to maximize testing benefits within the team.
• Provide assurance during team retrospectives and planning sessions to ensure adherence to test best practices, continuous improvement, and relevant standards.
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience working in Agile teams using Test-Driven Development (TDD) with Java, and the ability to work independently.
• Experience with PACT frameworks for Consumer Driven Contract testing is desirable.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and their role in automation testing.
• Familiarity with command-line tools and scripting languages for either Windows or Linux.
• Strong coding skills (SOLID principles, Dependency Injection, Design Patterns, etc.).

• A minimum of 5 years relevant experience as a QA Automation Engineer
• Experience and knowledge of API testing and the use of Postman
