WAN Network Architect

Up to £70,000 + bonus and car allowance

Solihull - 2-4 days on-site

A global leader in the IT solutions space and a powerhouse of the UK Defence sector is currently seeking an experienced SC Cleared WAN Network Architect to join its Defence & National Security Business Unit where your role will see you supporting the delivery of highly secure network architectures & services into central government-based customers.

The Role:

• As the Network Technical Lead, you'll take charge of designing and deploying secure, resilient network systems.
• Your duties will encompass crafting robust network infrastructures, creating detailed configuration documentation, and skilfully conducting governance reviews.
• The role includes both strategic design and hands-on involvement in technical configuration and implementation to ensure smooth service transitions.
• You will deliver reliable, scalable, and future-ready networks, setting a benchmark for superior networking solutions.

Key Requirements:

• Must be a sole British UK national with active SC or DV (Developed Vetting) security clearance.
• A minimum of 10 years' networking experience, including at least 3 years in a design or architecture-focused position-ideal for Network Design Engineers aspiring to advance into architecture roles.
• Proven expertise in Cisco and Juniper technologies, including the ability to produce comprehensive high- and low-level design documents.
• Solid networking foundations, supported by certifications such as CCNA, CCNP (Cisco), and JNCIS-ENT (Juniper).
• Advanced knowledge of WAN routing protocols (MPLS, BGP, IS-IS) and proficiency in IPsec, GRE, and encryption technologies.
• Practical experience with Juniper products (e.g., SRX, MX) and JUNOS OS, along with extensive LAN switching experience using Juniper EX and Cisco switches.
• Strong skills in network operations, troubleshooting, and a complete understanding of the networking service lifecycle, from requirements gathering to implementation.

• Up to £70,000 base
• 10% bonus
