Junior Quantitative Trader

$100,000 – $120,000 + Performance Related Bonuses

My client is a global proprietary trading firm with a strong presence in the options market-making space. Based in New York, their head office houses a collaborative core team of traders, researchers, and developers who work closely together to identify, develop, and execute cutting-edge trading strategies.

Role Overview:

The firm are looking for a Junior Trader to join their core trading team. This is a unique opportunity for someone who is passionate about trading and strategy development to work alongside the firm's founders and senior management team. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in trading, strategy design, algorithm development, and alpha generation, all while directly collaborating with the core team of traders, developers, and researchers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trade financial instruments in the options market-making space, leveraging your expertise and collaborating with the broader team.
  • Develop and implement trading strategies to maximize profit potential.
  • Work with algorithms and data analysis to enhance and optimize trading decisions.
  • Continuously generate alpha through innovative, data-driven approaches.
  • Collaborate with senior traders, researchers, and developers to refine strategies and improve overall trading performance.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate with a technical degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, C++, or similar.
  • Solid foundation in quantitative analysis and strong mathematical ability.
  • Some experience in options trading, either through internships or a full-time role in an options trading/market making environment.
  • A proactive, collaborative, and results-driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance team environment.
