Lead Software Engineer – C#/.NET
Leeds (Hybrid – 3 days per week on-site)
Earn up to £70,000 + benefits
UK National Security Vetting required (UK national or dual national, 5+ years residency)
A growing digital delivery function within a global consultancy is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join a high-performing team building secure, modern, scalable systems for critical client programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of technology-enabled solutions using modern engineering practices
- Provide technical direction, mentorship, and oversight to internal teams and contractors
- Translate business requirements into technical deliverables alongside product managers
- Drive system architecture and own technical decisions across projects
- Champion agile ways of working and support continuous improvement#
Core Requirements
- Deep experience with C#/.NET; full-stack experience preferred
- Strong background in building and scaling distributed, secure systems
- Solid understanding of design patterns, architecture, and code review practices
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, RESTful APIs, and microservices
- Proficient with CI/CD pipelines and tooling (e.g. GitHub Actions, CircleCI)
- Must be eligible for UK National Security Vetting
Desirable Skills
- Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP
- Knowledge of database systems and models
- Familiarity with test automation frameworks and monitoring tools such as DataDog or Prometheus
- Exposure to a range of open-source technologies
