Support Engineer

Location – Bristol

Salary – Up to £61,500

Clearance – All candidates must be SC Clearable

The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Support Engineer to join a growing team delivering technical support and authoritative engineering advice for in-service submarine platforms. This role is based in Bristol.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary engineering contact for technical queries on submarine systems (mechanical and structural)
• Provide expert guidance on the design, safety, operation, and maintenance of platform equipment
• Respond to queries from the customer’s Design Authority and industry partners in accordance with established governance
• Lead or participate in customer support meetings and report updates internally to relevant programme stakeholders
• Integrate effectively between the customer and wider engineering teams (including shipyards, naval bases, and other delivery locations)
• Provide input across areas such as Safety, Design Change, Training, and Learning from Experience (LfE)

Essential Experience:

• Experience supporting nuclear submarines or in a technical support engineering role
• Strong ability to clearly communicate complex technical matters to diverse stakeholders
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
