Overview

We’re looking for a Delivery Manager to lead multi-disciplinary teams across some of the most critical digital transformation programmes in the UK public sector. You’ll be responsible for ensuring successful delivery of complex services and platforms that meet user needs, drive meaningful outcomes, and adhere to good governance and agile delivery standards.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex delivery challenges, excels in stakeholder communication, and is passionate about empowering high-performing teams. You’ll play a key role in client relationships, delivery assurance, team growth, and supporting business development.Please note: This role requires a consulting background with proven experience delivering in UK public sector environments.


Key Responsibilities

Delivery Leadership

  • Own the delivery of digital services and ensure successful outcomes across time, cost, scope, and value.

  • Drive continuous planning, forecasting, and risk management across delivery teams.

  • Ensure quality standards and compliance requirements are met throughout the delivery lifecycle.

  • Act as the key point of contact for delivery performance and client satisfaction.

Team Empowerment

  • Lead, coach and mentor multi-disciplinary agile teams across engagements.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive team culture with clear goals, performance feedback, and development support.

  • Manage team onboarding, resourcing, and capability alignment to project needs.

Governance & Risk

  • Set up and maintain robust delivery governance, reporting, and escalation frameworks.

  • Proactively manage risks, dependencies and blockers—ensuring visibility and mitigation across stakeholders.

  • Ensure confidentiality, security and compliance across all aspects of delivery.

Client Engagement & Growth

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and third-party stakeholders.

  • Identify and support business development opportunities with existing clients.

  • Shape bids and proposals in collaboration with sales and account management teams.

  • Promote delivery success stories internally and externally (e.g. case studies, blogs, award submissions).


Essential Experience

  • Experience successfully delivering technology projects using Agile methodologies.

  • Consulting background with demonstrable experience delivering programmes in the UK public sector.

  • Strong background managing multi-disciplinary delivery teams, including line management.

  • Evidence of building lasting client relationships and delivering within a consulting or IT services environment.

  • Broad understanding of technology trends, cloud, and modern software engineering practices.

  • Proven experience implementing and governing delivery frameworks and quality standards.

  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance client value and profitability.

  • Excellent stakeholder communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Passionate about developing others and creating an inclusive, high-performance culture.


Desirable Experience

  • Experience delivering transformation in central government, healthcare, or regulated sectors.

  • Prior success in growing follow-on business within existing accounts.

  • Certification in Agile, Scrum, Prince2, or related delivery frameworks.

  • Exposure to user research, analytics, or design-led delivery approaches.

  • Proven track record of driving innovation within delivery teams or organisations.
