DevOps Engineer – Newcastle upon Tyne

£50,000 - £80,000 + Excellent Benefits

 

Our client is a newly established joint venture between a global leader in management consulting and a leading global alternative investment fund manager.

They are building a high-calibre technology team in the heart of Newcastle City Centre, creating an environment where exceptional engineers work on complex, high-impact initiatives closely linked to global markets and events.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Automating infrastructure and environments.
  • Owning, managing, and maintaining Continuous Integration infrastructure.
  • Developing monitoring and diagnostics solutions.
  • Delivering automation solutions directly to end users.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong skills in PowerShell or other scripting languages.
  • Experience with C#, Java, or Python – ideally with prior development experience.
  • Infrastructure as Code expertise (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
  • Containerisation with Docker and orchestration via Kubernetes or Docker Swarm.
  • Monitoring experience with ELK, Grafana, or similar tools.
  • CI/CD experience with TeamCity.
  • Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Windows and Linux administration skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Financial Services background is a plus, but not essential.
  • Minimum 2:1 degree in Computer Science (or related field) from a Russell Group university.

  • Atlassian suite (Bitbucket, JIRA).
  • Artifact storage (Artifactory).
  • Octopus Deploy.
  • Static analysis tools (SonarQube).
  • Control-M.
  • Cloud experience (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • VMware (vSphere) and SAN experience.
