DevOps Engineer – Newcastle upon Tyne
Mid to Senior-Level | £50,000 – £80,000 (depending on experience)
We’re growing a world-class engineering team at the heart of Newcastle, and we're looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our high-performance environment. Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking exceptional engineers with a passion for automation, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. You’ll work closely with development teams and business users to build reliable, scalable, and secure systems that underpin critical business applications.
All applicants must hold a 2:1 or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field from a top-tier UK university.
We particularly welcome candidates from Russell Group institutions, such as Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, UCL, Manchester, Edinburgh, Warwick, Bristol, and similar.

What You’ll Be Doing

Automating infrastructure deployment and environment provisioning

Managing and optimising CI/CD pipelines

Developing tooling for monitoring, diagnostics, and observability

Delivering automation solutions for end-user processes

Working across both Windows and Linux platforms

Collaborating closely with developers and infrastructure engineers to improve system reliability and performance
What You’ll Bring
-
Solid scripting experience (e.g. PowerShell, Python, or similar)
-
Experience in one or more programming languages (C#, Java, or Python)
-
Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent

Containerisation knowledge (Docker) and orchestration experience (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, etc.)

CI/CD pipeline experience (preferably TeamCity)

Familiarity with SQL Server and database deployment pipelines

Comfortable working across Windows and Linux environments

Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

High attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving attitude

Financial services experience is a plus but not required
