Senior DevOps Engineer

Key Responsibilities

The DevOps Engineer will play a vital role in building and maintaining world-class systems. Responsibilities include:

  • Automating infrastructure and environments

  • Owning, managing, and maintaining Continuous Integration infrastructure

  • Developing monitoring and diagnostics solutions

  • Delivering automation solutions to improve the end-user experience

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will bring proven technical skills, problem-solving ability, and a collaborative mindset. Essential skills include:

  • Strong scripting skills (PowerShell or similar)

  • Proficiency in C#, Java, or Python with the ability to code confidently

  • Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent)

  • Containerisation using Docker, with orchestration via Kubernetes or Docker Swarm

  • Monitoring expertise with ELK, Grafana, or equivalent tools

  • CI/CD experience with TeamCity

  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server

  • Experience in both Windows and Linux administration

  • Excellent communication skills for both client and team interactions

  • A minimum 2:1 degree in Computer Science or a related subject, ideally from a Russell Group university

  • Financial Services experience (advantageous but not essential)

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, the following would be highly beneficial:

  • Atlassian tools – Bitbucket, JIRA

  • Artifact storage using Artifactory

  • Octopus Deploy

  • Static analysis tools such as SonarQube

  • Control-M

  • Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)

  • VMware (vSphere) and SAN technologies
