Senior Platform Engineer

Location: Manchester (Hybrid- 3 days per week + possible overseas travel)

Salary: £50-70,000 GBP + Bonus Scheme

Clearance Requirement: Candidates must be eligible for UK SC clearance

We are seeking an experienced Senior Platform Engineer to join a high-impact team following continuous growth and success in the UK Government sector.

You will be part of a growing team that not only delivers for its clients but gives back to the community with local community engagement in the region.

The Ideal Senior Platform Engineer will have experience in:

  • Programming in one or more of: JavaScript, Java, Net, Python.
  • Designing and building Proof of Concept or Production systems collaboratively.
  • Using version control systems (e.g. Git, Perforce, Mercurial)
  • Using CI/CD tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins, Teamcity, Bitbucket, in order to streamline delivery.
  • Automated Testing and static code analysis (e.g. SonarQube) to ensure quality.
  • Competent team working inside an agile environment e.g. Scrum, Lean, Kanban.
  • Use of common software design patterns and own creativity to solve client challenges.

It would be great if you also had experience with:

  • Machine Learning Software (e.g. AWS/Azure ML and TensorFlow).
  • Cloud deployment and management (AWS, Azure).
  • Containerisation (E.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
  •  Databases (relational, document, graph).
  • Configuration and deployment tools (Ansible).
