- Collaborating in cross-functional teams with engineers, data scientists, product managers, and designers.
- Creating scalable, reusable tools that improve ML deployment and operationalisation.
- Leading on technical design and delivery of government-focused projects.
- Providing technical expertise to stakeholders and mentoring less experienced engineers.

- Strong software engineering background with proficiency in Python.
- Experience deploying ML models built with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn.
- Knowledge of probability, statistics, and common ML techniques.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Proficiency with containers, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
- Comfortable working in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.

- Competitive fixed-term salary: £90,000 – £110,000 (pro rata).
- Hybrid working with flexibility across UK locations.
- Opportunity to shape and deliver applied AI systems at scale.
- Be part of a high-calibre team with exposure to cutting-edge thinking in AI engineering.
This is a role for someone who wants to move beyond experimentation and bring machine learning into live production systems where it makes a measurable difference to public services. If you have the technical capability, the clearance, and the drive to deliver meaningful outcomes, this is a chance to contribute to projects that matter while working alongside some of the most skilled practitioners in applied AI.
