Pre-Sales Solution Architect

Location: London (hybrid – 2–3 days per week in office)

Salary: Up to £130,000 (DOE) + £5,000 car allowance + 20% bonus + benefits

The Role

As a Pre-Sales Solution Architect, you’ll be the key technical lead in high-value sales cycles – shaping solutions, owning the architecture workstream, and driving compelling propositions for large-scale application services opportunities. You’ll collaborate closely with sales, business development, and delivery leaders to scope, define, and propose solutions that bring real impact to clients.

 

Day to day, you’ll be:

  • Leading pre-sales solutioning on major application modernisation programmes (e.g., moving from legacy 3-tier Java or Oracle estates to modern cloud-native platforms).
  • Translating client requirements into commercially viable, technically robust, and differentiated proposals.
  • Acting as the bridge between sales, clients, and delivery – ensuring clarity, credibility, and confidence at every stage.
  • Driving conversations around AI-enabled engineering, showing how GenAI and automation can improve the software development lifecycle.
  • Owning and evolving propositions for application modernisation and augmented engineering within the UK&I market, aligned to global strategy.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong background in software engineering (Java, C#, or similar) with progression into architecture.
  • Extensive experience in pre-sales solution architecture within a consultancy environment – with proven ownership of full bid lifecycles on deals £5m+.
  • Broad application architecture expertise across multiple technology stacks and strong cloud experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Commercially aware, able to confidently engage with senior stakeholders and quickly shape solutions under pressure.
  • Presence, quick thinking, and strong communication – someone who can command a room and win trust with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with AI in SDLC (e.g., intelligent automation, AI-assisted coding, or test automation) is a strong plus.
