PCB Technologist
Location: Bolton (Hybrid – 2 to 3 days on-site)
Salary: Up to £40,000
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a PCB Technologist to join a leading defence engineering organisation developing advanced electronic sub-systems. You’ll play a key role in supporting the design, development, and manufacture of printed circuit boards and electronic assemblies used in complex, high-reliability systems.
The Role
As a PCB Technologist, you’ll work alongside technical specialists to advance electronic design and manufacturing technologies from concept through to full production. You’ll engage with suppliers, manufacturing teams, and engineering stakeholders to ensure the delivery of robust PCB and circuit card solutions that perform in harsh operational environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the development, evaluation, and validation of PCB design and manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners, including international suppliers, to implement new technologies and methods.
• Conduct laboratory assessments and assist with failure analysis at board and component level.
• Help establish and maintain documented standards for PCB manufacture and assembly.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across the electronics manufacturing lifecycle.
Skills & Experience
• Understanding of PCB design, manufacture, and assembly technologies.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration across multi-site and international teams.
• Methodical, self-motivated, and detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality outcomes.
• Willingness and flexibility to travel domestically and internationally when required.
• Background in electronics, materials science, or manufacturing engineering beneficial.
